On May 15, 2013, the California Assembly Appropriations Committee conducted a hearing on seven bills that, if adopted, would regulate the practice of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in the state. See our prior report here.
Last Wednesday’s hearing did not result in an up-or-down vote on any of the seven bills. Instead, each of the bills was referred to the Committee’s suspense file due to the potential fiscal impact to the state of the legislative action. They are expected to come back up for consideration by the Committee at a May 24, 2013, hearing (agenda). Audio of the hearing will be available online.
